Nissan put ONE 12V socket in the Juke. I have 3 things that require it (dash cam, phone charger, GPS). I could wire the dash cam to ignition, but still.

This is what I did for my dash cam.

For like $15 and it’s super easy.
Here’s the link for the hardwire kit. You can buy the add a circuit at any part store.

I’m always a bit put off by how terrible those 12V to USB adapters are. Like there are a bunch of good, small, cheap, 12V to USB cigarette lighter adapters that support dual ports, quick charge (or just higher charging Amps), while ever built in one I see is limited to 1.5A (total, not per port). Sure you could cut open a cigarette lighter one and solder some stuff, but feels very hackish when the whole point is a clean install. I’m thinking the best option may be to attach a new cigarette lighter port to the new circuit and then plug an adapter into that.

Best advice:
Get 12V -> Dual USB adapter
Plug in dash cam and phone
Throw GPS in trash, it is worse than your phone
Alternatively, get a triple USB port charger (or even a quad). Unlike a dual port one, it won’t be flush, but you can at least plug in all your stuff (unless it is dumb enough to use a proprietary charger instead of USB)
All that said, I wish cars had more ports. I’d like a couple USB charging ports behind the mirror, and a couple more by the driver side A pillar. Having some modern USB type C ports built in would be significantly more elegant just throwing 12V ports everywhere.

So you’re saying you’re Nissan is as advanced as my 31 year-old GM parts bin car. Got it.

One in the center console, one in cigarette tray, and then one each rear passenger seat ashtray. Super #luxury

My Twingo only had 1 but it was super easy to add another. Run wire from original socket and install.

My Blazer had 3, my Legacy has 2. However, it doesn’t have an aux jack

My F30 is supposed to have 3 (behind cupholder, under passenger dash and in trunk), Canadian versions have only one. Even the opening under dash is still there, and I heard BMW charges a “custom order fee” to get it filled, since it’s not an official option in Canada.

I used those mini USB adapters from China in my Solstice, and that one is up to 3A, and every other adapter I see is the same. Your seller must have some really old stock.

If they give you all those ports, who’s going to pay for their $5000 navigation / Bluetooth that costs $200 in parts?

My RAV4 has a real power outlet. Like, the ones people have in their houses. I plug my phone charger into it, since it’s right behind the center console.

My Vibe had one too, if only more cars had them.

Hardwire all the things.

I want to hard wire the dash cam, as it’s always running. My phone charger have it in my center console, & use it as an as need basis. I only use the GPS a few times a month. I don’t see the point hard wiring the latter of the 3.

I hate wires. I went from car stereo installer, to home theater installer, to IT. So if you hand me a 3 foot phone charger (or really any other wire) I will wrap it up so nice that it looks like it just came out of the package lol.
What I normally do is hard wire in a 2/3 port usb charger, in a hidden but somewhat accessible location. That way I can have a few things hard wired that are “semi-permanent”. So when apple decides to change their plug again, I can just reach behind the glove box, yank the old one and quickly run a new one.

I tucked it under front of the head liner, under the passenger side a-pillar trim, & under the dash. So only a tiny part of the wire is visible.

Just what I was seeing on Amazon (also the one you pictured is a 1.5A model).

I’m surprised at how few cars have real power outlets, even nicer ones. Same with smart key; those two features have become basic conveniences in my RAV4.
